Meet Dr. Scott C. Doner
Dentistry - His Passion:
Dr. Doner decided in junior high school that being a dentist was his life's goal. Today, his colleagues continually acknowledge him for the excellent dentistry that he performs. He is extremely passionate about delivering the highest level of quality dental care to his patients and making sure that their experience is both positive and satisfying.
Dental Training:
Dr. Scott C. Doner has lived throughout the U.S., Japan and Spain as an "Air Force Brat." He attended the University of Arizona for his undergraduate studies and then chose one of the nation's top dental schools - the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, in San Francisco, California - to learn his profession. Dr. Doner graduated from "UOP" in 1981.
Work History:
After graduating, Dr. Doner bought an existing practice on the northern Redwood coast of California. He provided dental care to residents in a small, rural fishing and logging community for the next five years. Isolation, fog and endless coastal rains finally took their toll on his family. After carefully researching the ideal place for he and his family to live, he moved everyone to Concord, New Hampshire in 1987.
In New Hampshire, Dr. Doner first joined a group practice in Penacook, and, after a few years, subsequently joined another group practice in Concord. In 1998, he decided to fulfill his dream of once again having his own dental practice - one that focuses on the highest standards, the best technology and the most patient-centered service possible. He established this practice on the Concord Hospital campus in February 1999.
Continuing Education & Training:
Dr. Doner is a "perpetual student." He continually pursues those continuing educational classes that help him and his staff to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care that training and technology can provide.
Each month for the last five years, he has traveled to Boston to participate with and to contribute his knowledge and experience to the Boston Dental Alliance. This dental study club is part of the highly-respected Seattle Study Club, which was formed to create a forum for general dentists and dental specialists to come together and solve complex dental treatment challenges using an "interdisciplinary" approach; by sharing knowledge and by brainstorming treatment solutions. The study club also allows the participants to learn from a panel of nationally-respected dental lecturers, in their fields of expertise, who present lectures and hands-on classes to personally interact with his study club members. It is through this forum that Dr. Doner has expanded his ability to present treatment options and provide advanced treatment techniques far beyond what he previously could have with the "typical" continuing education choices offered to general dentists. He also presents complex cases to the study club to "mastermind" the best solutions with specialists and lecturers prior to beginning his patients' treatment.
Personal Interests:
Dr. Doner and his wife, Diane, live in Bow. His daughter, Katie, and son, Emerson, are all grown up and pursuing their careers in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Doner's favorite activities include hiking, cycling on dirt and paved roads , kayaking, Telemark skiing and scuba diving. The family "menagerie" includes 2 cats, Mattie and Lucy, and two Standard poodles named Angus and Rebah.
